Every Sunday at St. Laurence we meet at 9.30am when the choir and organ lead the singing but the pattern of worship varies slightly week by week.
On the first Sunday of each month the whole congregration worships together and the preacher prepares a sermon appropriate for the whole family; usually a younger member of the congregration reads a lesson.
On the second and third Sundays the children are invited to go into the vestry for Sunday School after the first hymn, then they re-join the service for Holy Communion as the service draws to a close. We enjoy a moment to learn what the children have been studying and what activities they have been sharing before dismissal saying the special prayer with actions.
"From my head to my heart, and from shoulder to shoulder, I know that I am loved by Jesus."
On the fourth Sunday, Family Communion again brings all members of the church family together.
In addition, there are three services each Sunday at our sister church - St. Augustine's, Broxbourne.
8AM QUIET - A said Holy Communion service, lasting 45mins.
11AM TRADITIONAL - A more liturgical service, with organ and children's groups lasting about an hour and a quarter.
6PM CONTEMPORARY - An informal service with more time for contemporary worship, teaching and prayer ministry; official ending is after about an hour and a quarter, but sung worship may continue shortly afterwards.
